Don't leave me neither here nor there
A lone face frozen in despair
It is the age when the "baby-boomers"
Have come into their own with agile mental tuners
The statistic says they are my very own
So why am I not shown
The bold paths they have tred and yet to go.
So many faces crowd row to row
Why am I left
Bereft?
Where do I fit in this iconoclast milieu-
Is it I want to eat a slice of this cake and have it too?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hold on! while I decide-
Whether or not I'm on your side
What if I joined you today
Will you show me the way
To live? What if you refused
My request and are not enthused?
I would die a dozen deaths
At being left alone
In my mind's cyclone.
Don't leave me out of breath
As I race frenzied in my mind's breadth
And as soon pause to ponder
Is it my small inner voice or merely the rolling thunder?
